Mission Statement Homework

If you’ve attended iNam the last two weeks, you now have committed to writing your personal MISSION STATEMENT.

Check this out…

1. The positive effect of accountability was supported: those who sent weekly progress reports to their friend accomplished significantly more than those who had unwritten goals, wrote their goals, formulated action commitments or sent those action commitments to a friend.
2. There was support for the role of public commitment: those who sent their commitments to a friend accomplished significantly more than those who wrote action commitments or did not write their goals.
3. The positive effect of written goals was supported: Those who wrote their goals accomplished significantly more than those who did not write their goals.

I just wanna say congrats on that. It’s what some who have lived 6 times as long as you [teens] facing the end of their lives may be regretting NOT ever taken a step like this.

If you’re reading this and you haven’t been to iNam and wanna get in on this, you can still do this. The assignment is:

*******Write down your mission statement.*******

First, think of this: **If the doc said you had 2 months to live, what would you do? WHO would you spend your remaining days with? What’s truly REALLY important to you?**

Now… THAT [whatever you just came up with] belongs in your mission statement.

(there’s a bit more to it… but that’s a good start. Get going on your first draft. Don’t hold back. Make it a paragraph; make it 3 pages… just commit it to writing.

VERSE re: PREPARATION:
2 Timothy 4:2-5
Preach the word; be prepared. in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situation, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
